Job Title: Behaviour Mentor (SEMH Support)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

TeacherActive are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to work with pupils requiring SEMH support in a lovely school in Basildon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives and help them reach their full potential.

About the role:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and develop positive behaviour strategies
Building trusting relationships to foster confidence and independence
Assisting with social and emotional development through tailored activities
Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
Providing a safe and supportive environment for pupils to thrive
The ideal candidate:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is preferred
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to individual needs and remain positive under pressure
Flexible, reliable, and committed to making a difference
Requirements:

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Youth Work) is advantageous
