SEMH Teaching Assistant - Outskirts of Nottingham

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school on the outskirts of Nottingham to recruit passionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants for a September 2025 start.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Conditions, in a nurturing and structured environment that prioritises personal development and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual emotional and behavioural needs

Assist in the delivery of targeted interventions and therapeutic activities

Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to create a safe and supportive setting

Help students develop self-regulation, confidence, and positive learning behaviours

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

A calm, consistent, and non-judgmental approach to behaviour management

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people
