Techniche Global are supporting an engineering specialist in large-scale Industrial Dehumidification systems, as they seek to appoint a Design Engineer at their facility near Glossop.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Office-based near Glossop, with occasional visits to customer sites for surveys and assessments.
Type: Monday-Friday, Full-time, permanent role

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical and piping design, using SolidWorks. You’ll be working on complex plant-wide layouts, supporting both new projects and improvements to existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
Design mechanical layouts including piping systems, equipment locations, gantries, and cable trays
Conduct site surveys and translate findings into accurate engineering designs
Collaborate with project teams to deliver solutions that meet client specifications
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement of designs Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in mechanical design within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Proficient in SolidWorks (essential)
Strong understanding of piping and mechanical system layouts
Knowledge of GD&T, logic controllers, and schematic interpretation (desirable)
Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach
