We are looking for a proactive and organised Workshop Controller to join our team in Birmingham. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our workshop, managing workflow, and supporting our technicians to deliver high-quality service to our customers.
The Role
* Oversee the day-to-day organisation and control of all productive workshop staff.
* Deputise for the Depot Manager when not on site.
* Ensure high levels of quality are maintained on all work produced.
* Monitor productive staff utilisation, productivity, and efficiency.
* Ensure health and safety regulations within the workshop are adhered to.
* Liaise with the Customer Service Advisor on job progress.
* Ensure customer issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
* Fully understand the requirements of processing job cards and workflow.
* Ensure that the MoT Quality Control procedure is adhered to.
Hours
Monday to Friday 08.00am until 17.00pm.
1 in 4 Saturday mornings 08.00am until 12.00noon.
Requirements
* Qualifications:
* City & Guilds Part 1 & 2, BTEC, or IMI in Motor Vehicle Management (or equivalent).
* OR equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry or similar environment.
* Workshop management experience within a commercial or similar environment is advantageous (full training will be provided).
* HGV Licence: Advantageous but not essential.
* IRTEC certification preferred.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
