Seeking a VAT Senior Manager to join the team at the London office of this Top 40 accountancy practice, which has offices across Central and Southern England. The firm has ambitious plans for expansion, and this role may involve travel to other offices within the Group. This is a permanent role and could be full-time or part-time

As VAT Senior Manager your key responsibilities will include:

* Providing technical advice on a range of Indirect Tax matters, supporting your output with legislation, case law and technical analysis

* Conducting VAT system health checks for clients and in-depth reviews of their business tax systems

* Managing all commercial aspects of VAT work undertaken and managing the firms VAT advisory services provided to both existing clients and on new assignments and projects

* Building relationships both within the firm and externally with clients

* Advising clients on beneficial VAT structures, ensuring timely payments and compliance with legal regulations

* Contributing to the development of consultancy work and projects for the firm, cross selling to other departments and assisting colleagues with general VAT advice to clients

* Reviewing prepared VAT returns

* Planning and managing assignments ensuring high standards and budget adherence and providing general support to the VAT team as required

* Liaising and negotiating with HMRC on behalf of clients

* Assisting the firm’s training function, as required

* Managing the successful delivery of VAT projects

* CTA VAT qualified, with a minimum of 6 years’ experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment with a proven track record of providing VAT advisory services

* Strong client relationship skills and proven project management and collaborative leadership skills

* Extensive experience in cooperating with HMRC

* Strong communication skills, verbal and written

* A positive, confident & proactive attitude with exceptional attention to detail

* Ability to prioritise & meet tight timeframes with high quality output

* Self-motivated

* Enjoy working as part of a team

* A UK driving licence to meet the need to be able to travel to all the Group's offices
