Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Daily Rate: £400–£550 pd CIS

Role Overview

An experienced Senior Project Manager is urgently required to oversee a high-value construction project at a Pharamautical site in Stevenage. This freelance role involves managing the build of a two-storey Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) Security Lodge along with extensive perimeter works including fencing, gates, security systems, substations and access control (including turnstiles and cameras). The role demands a proactive leader with a strong health and safety focus and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary team comprising 2x Technical Services Managers, 2x Quantity Surveyors, 2x Site Managers and Health & Safety Manager.

Act as the key liaison between the client and project teams, ensuring clear communication and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.

*

Enforce and uphold rigorous safety standards in line with site-specific requirements.

*

Manage timelines, budgets and milestones to ensure smooth delivery of the £8 million project.

*

Maintain high quality standards throughout construction and fit-out phases.

*

Proactively address issues and manage conflict or complications on-site.

Successful Candidate Profile

*

Significant project management experience in commercial construction, ideally with exposure to CLT or timber-frame projects.

*

Preference for candidates from a carpentry or similar trade background.

*

Must hold valid CSCS card, SMSTS, NVQ Level 6 or 7 and hold valid and Asbestos Awareness certifications.

*

Strong leadership, people management and communication skills essential.

*

Candidates with experience at top-tier contractors is highly desirable.
