Shifts: Monday to Friday // 10am – 7pm with the potential for rotation shifts and with some (paid or TOIL) weekend overtime.
Overview:
The Flavour Network are looking for a Multiskilled Engineer to join our wonderful client, a fast-growing and forward-thinking food manufacturer based in Nottingham. This business is scaling rapidly and investing in its engineering team to support increased demand and ongoing innovation in their high-care production facility. As the Multiskilled Engineer, You’ll play a hands-on role in developing mechanical and automation solutions. E.g. using sensors, solenoids, and linear actuators to creatively spread the product evenly during production.
This Multiskilled Engineer role is for someone who thrives on solving practical problems, applying innovative thinking to real-world manufacturing processes, and fine-tuning equipment to meet the specific needs of their very unique food production environment.
Responsibilities for the Multiskilled Engineer:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to unplanned breakdown

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across varied production equipment
*
Work on conveyors, packaging machines, weighers, chillers, mixers and more
*
Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and production lines
*
Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
*
Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
*
Ensure full compliance with H&S and food hygiene standards
*
Collaborate with Production, Technical, and QA teams to support day-to-day operations
*
Mentor apprentices or junior engineers as needed
*
Lead or support process and machinery improvement projects
Requirements for the Multiskilled Engineer:
*
Proven experience in a similar engineering role within a food manufacturing environment is essential.
*
Competence in both mechanical and electrical disciplines (roughly 60/40 or 50/50 split)
*
Confident working with PLC-controlled and automated systems
*
Skilled in fault finding and quick diagnostics under pressure
*
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety protocols
*
Experience with sensor logic, VFDs, and control systems is desirable
*
Ability to carry out minor fabrication and machine modifications (e.g. drilling, grinding, welding)
*
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with great communication skills
*
Eagerness to continuously improve processes and machine performance
