Visum Recruitment has the pleasure of representing our client, an innovative manufacturer within the automation and materials-handling sector, who are seeking an Application Engineer to join their team in Chesterfield on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role of the Application Engineer is to provide expert technical support to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial enquiry through to final implementation.

Application Engineer Job Overview

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and support external sales in new markets.

Identify customer needs and recommend tailored technical solutions.

*

Provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle and deliver on-site support.

*

Manage the Test/Demo area, prepare trials, and assist with industry exhibitions.

*

Collaborate with engineering teams on drawings, documentation, and project support.

*

Ensure compliance with industry standards and prepare accurate quotations.

*

Maintain CRM records and deliver technical training to colleagues and customers.

*

Handle customer queries on technical issues, pricing, and delivery.

*

Occasional UK and international travel may be required.

Application Engineer Requirements

*

Strong technical knowledge ideally relating to materials handling, automation, or vacuum technology.

*

Understanding of industry regulations, performance standards, and best-practice processes.

*

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical thinking.

*

Sales and marketing experience to support business development activities.

*

Relevant technical diploma or equivalent qualification.

*

Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce desirable).

Application Engineer Salary & Benefits

* Up to £43,000 (depending on experience)

* 23 days annual leave per year plus statutory bank holidays.
