We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager, HGV Workshop Supervisor or Depot Manager to lead a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Avonmouth. This role is ideal for someone with strong people management skills and a hands-on background in workshop operations. The site is busy, the team is established, and the opportunity is ready to go - immediate interviews available.

Key Responsibilities of a Workshop Manager / HGV Workshop Supervisor / Depot Manager

Manage day-to-day running of the workshop including job allocation and team support
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians and workshop staff
Ensure all repair, service, and maintenance work is completed to DVSA and manufacturer standards
Maintain high levels of productivity and ensure compliance with health & safety procedures
Handle staffing, holiday planning, overtime, and shift cover requirements
Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth workshop operation and customer satisfaction
Skills and Qualifications for a Workshop Manager / HGV Workshop Supervisor / Depot Manager

Essential

Experience supervising or managing a busy commercial vehicle or HGV workshop
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proven ability to manage workloads, delegate tasks, and drive performance
Good working knowledge of DVSA standards and compliance requirements
Desirable

Technical background or qualifications in HGV maintenance
IRTEC or similar certification
Experience within a dealership or fleet maintenance setting
