Groundskeeper – Independent School (Guildford Area)

A prestigious independent school near Guildford is looking for a proactive and skilled Groundskeeper to join their Estates team as soon as possible. This is a temporary role to start with, with the opportunity to apply for a permanent contract in the near future.
 
The role of Groundskeeper will involve:

Maintaining and preparing high-quality sports pitches for Rugby, Football, and Cricket
Caring for gardens and landscaped areas across both prep and senior school sites
Supporting seasonal pitch changes and general ground upkeep
Operating and maintaining grounds machinery
Assisting with the supervision of grounds-related external contractors We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience
Is enthusiastic about working outdoors in all weathers
Holds a full UK driving licence (or is willing to obtain one)
Can work independently with a positive, can-do attitude
Communicates well and thrives as part of a team Desirable but not essential:

Qualifications related to grounds work
Experience maintaining school or sports grounds
