Transport Planner

Location: Coventry
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Monday-Friday (with occasional Saturday)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our busy planning team in Coventry. This role sits within our UK to Ireland operation, planning both FTL and LTL movements in a fast-paced express freight environment.

Key Responsibilities

Liaising with customers via email and phone to provide real-time updates on consignments
Planning and assigning vehicles and trailers to loads
Clearly communicating instructions to drivers and internal teams
Managing job pricing and administration
Processing PODs and associated transport documentation

Experience & Skills Required

Minimum 2 years' experience in road freight transport planning
Proven experience planning 40ft articulated vehicles
Background in FTL and LTL planning within an express or time-critical environment
Strong understanding of driver hours, breaks, and loading limits
Basic knowledge of UK-Ireland customs procedures (advantageous)
