HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver - ASAP Start

Pay: £17.25 per hour (weekly pay)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Contract: Until 31st December 2025 (potential extension)
Induction: 8 hours (date to be confirmed)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team immediately. You will play a key role in delivering refuse and recycling services across Mid Sussex, ensuring safe and efficient operations while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections
Operate all machinery safely and effectively
Use safe lifting and manual handling techniques
Utilise in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
Complete paperwork accurately and in real time
Conduct daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use
Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
Assist refuse loaders when required to ensure timely completion of routes
Maintain positive relations with the public and other road users

What We're Looking For

Valid HGV Class 2 licence (maximum 6 points)
Driver CPC qualification
Ability and willingness to perform manual handling tasks
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and proactive attitude
High-vis clothing and safety footwear required
Clean driving licence desirable

Additional Information

Overtime available after 40 hours
Induction: 8 hours
Contract initially until 31st December 2025, with potential extension
