About the Role

An award-winning legal services team is seeking a Senior Conveyancer to join its residential property department. This role is suited to an experienced conveyancer who is motivated by delivering high-quality legal solutions, supporting team development, and contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and supporting junior colleagues, developing and maintaining strong relationships with local estate agents and referral partners, and driving efficiencies through the effective use of technology and continuous improvement of systems and processes. You will work closely with senior leadership and operational support teams to enhance service delivery and support future growth.

The firm is a highly respected legal practice based in the North West, with a growing team of over 50 staff. It is recognised for providing high standards of legal service and handling a wide variety of residential property matters, offering exposure to a broad range of transactional complexities.

This position is a senior role within the residential team, contributing to the delivery of the firm’s vision, growth objectives, and client satisfaction. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, team members, and referral partners, while working alongside senior management to create an environment and processes that support outstanding service delivery.

You will be encouraged to contribute ideas for improvement and play an active role in developing systems, processes, and team capability. The role reports directly to the Head of Residential.

Job Description: Senior Conveyancer

Legal Knowledge and Technical Expertise

In-depth knowledge of residential property law including freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered land, title checks, and ownership structures

Experience with Land Registry applications and Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, transfer deeds, and mortgage documentation

Strong understanding of AML, GDPR, and regulatory compliance

Experience handling complex transactions such as lease extensions, shared ownership, new builds, and Help to Buy matters

Client Relationship Management

Managing client matters from instruction through to post-completion

Clear and effective communication to keep clients informed and reassured

Proactive problem solving to avoid delays or complications

Building long-term client relationships through transparency and trust

Estate Agent and Referral Partner Engagement

Developing and maintaining relationships with estate agents, brokers, and referral partners

Supporting referral growth through service excellence and responsiveness

Gathering and acting on feedback to improve collaboration and service delivery

Technology and Process Improvement

Using case management systems and conveyancing platforms effectively

Designing and refining workflows to improve accuracy and turnaround times

Identifying and addressing process inefficiencies

Mentoring and supporting junior conveyancers and legal assistants

Delegating work appropriately while maintaining quality and compliance

Contributing to a collaborative and development-focused team culture
