? Rate: £29.35 per hour (Umbrella)

We are looking for a highly experienced Housing Options Officer to provide immediate support within a remote working team. This is an essential role for delivering statutory homelessness services and offering practical, person-centred housing advice to vulnerable individuals and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver advice and support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Carry out detailed assessments and investigations under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Draft and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs), progressing applications through prevention, relief, and main duty stages.

Make legal decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and issue formal notifications.

Use the Locata system for case management, record keeping, and compliance tracking.

Provide referrals and signpost applicants to other services, including welfare support, housing associations, and mental health services.

Work with landlords, social care teams, and voluntary agencies to prevent homelessness.

Take part in a remote duty rota approximately 2 days per week (schedule confirmed at interview).

Maintain detailed and accurate records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Extensive and current experience working as a Housing Options Officer.

Strong working knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act and associated housing legislation.

Proficiency using the Locata housing system.

Compassionate and professional communication style with service users in vulnerable situations.

Ability to manage a busy and complex caseload remotely, while meeting statutory deadlines.
