Teach Now is delighted to be recruiting for a part-time Key Stage 1 teaching assistant for a welcoming and supportive primary school in Havering, East London. About the role
As a KS1 TA, you will play a key role in:
• Supporting classroom learning and behaviour management across Year 1 and Year 2
• Delivering targeted booster sessions in literacy and numeracy to small groups or 1:1
• Assisting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) to access the curriculum effectively
• Collaborating with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored intervention strategies
The ideal candidate will have
• Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1, ideally in a UK school
• Familiarity with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply)
