My client is a fourth generation family mixed farming business and specialise in the growing of fresh produce and dealing with livestock. The business is now seeking an individual for their Stockperson vacancy.
Role Overview
A hands-on role supporting the daily care, calving operations, and overall husbandry of our dairy herd. The ideal candidate will have practical calving experience and knowledge. An understanding when calves are born, recognising early signs of labour, and supporting cows through the process safely and efficiently would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support calving operations, including monitoring and assisting cows during labour
* Newborn calf care, feeding, tagging, and health checks
* Daily herd husbandry, including:
* Feeding and nutrition support
* Bedding and cow comfort management
* General livestock care and welfare monitoring
* Maintain high standards of dairy farm hygiene and animal handling
* Operate and drive tractors and farm machinery
* Tractor work and yard duties
* Driving and operating a tractor for feeding, scraping, and general farm operations
* Supporting overall livestock welfare and farm productivity
Experience & Skills Required
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday
* 07:30am – 4:00pm
* 40 hours per week
* Based on-site in Blairgowrie
Pay & Earning Potential
* £15.00 per hour
* £30,000 - £31,000 per year basic salary
* Opportunity to earn an additional £10,000–£14,000+ per year in overtime, depending on seasonal and farm requirements
