CDM Recruitment is proudly supporting a long-standing client in Swalwell, Gateshead. Our client is a leading precision engineering business known for its high-quality bespoke components and commitment to traditional craftsmanship.

We are looking to speak with skilled Manual Turners who take pride in their work and enjoy operating traditional lathes to produce low-volume, high-precision parts for clients across sectors such as oil & gas, renewables, marine, and general engineering.

? The Role:

*

Operate manual centre lathes to machine a variety of metal components to tight tolerances.

*

Work from engineering drawings to produce one-off and small-batch parts.

*

Inspect components using micrometers, verniers, and gauges.

*

Deburr and finish machined parts to a high standard.

*

Contribute to a friendly and supportive shop floor team with a strong reputation for quality.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

*

Proven experience as a Manual Turner in a precision engineering environment.

*

Confident working from detailed technical drawings.

*

Skilled in measuring, inspecting, and quality-checking your own work.

*

A proactive approach and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
