Your primary focus will be to provide clear and balanced advice to the Learning Directorate in Children's Services and schools in West Sussex in relation to various education matters with minimal supervision.
This will require assessment of the needs of clients and responsibility for decisions which may affect the future wellbeing and circumstances of individual clients and/or residents of West Sussex.
You will run a mixed case load of Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunals, advice to schools and academies, advice across Children's Services on education related matters, clerking school admission appeals and appeals in relation to exclusions and advice on data protection in schools and freedom of information related matters.
You will also assist with delivering training in relation to these areas.
There will be periodic requirements for lifting or carrying moderately heavy items such as case files.
There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public
