Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on landfill gas engines and associated systems
*
Perform planned servicing and repairs to minimise engine downtime
*
Maintain low voltage (LV) electrical systems in safe working condition
*
Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
*
Commission and exchange generators and telemetry-connected systems
*
Manage the gas field to ensure sustainable fuel supply and proper gas control
*
Conduct air emissions monitoring using appropriate equipment
*
Implement environmental spill response and control measures
*
Maintain site logs and service records accurately for compliance and traceability
*
Operate to company operations and maintenance standards
*
Collaborate with internal and external specialists to resolve technical issues
*
Carry out site restoration and support long-term aftercare as needed
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
*
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies
*
Follow safe working procedures and proactively identify hazards
*
Support environmental legislation compliance through daily operational checks
*
Promote environmental awareness during all on-site activities
*
Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour call-out rota (1 in 4 weekends)
*
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure site safety measures are followed

*
Manage own time, workload, and regional travel efficiently
*
Minimise unnecessary expenditure by using company tools and processes
*
Use parts, tools, and stock responsibly and cost-effectively

Ensure timely completion of tasks to avoid operational delays
Skills & Experience
*
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role
*
Comfortable travelling regularly and working outdoors in variable conditions
*
Strong problem-solving skills with a systematic approach
*
Capable of managing workload and responding flexibly to reactive tasks
*
Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) to an intermediate level
Qualifications & Development
*
Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification desirable but not essential
*
Willingness to develop new skills through internal and external training
*
Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, or landfill gas operations
