Role: Teaching Assistant

Location: WA14, Altrincham area
Hours: 8:30am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour
Contract: Full-time, long-term from September 2025

Reeson Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the WA14 area from September. This full-time Teaching Assistant role will run throughout the academic year, with potential to continue into future terms or become permanent for the right person.

As a Teaching Assistant in this PRU, you'll be supporting pupils aged 11 to 16 who face a range of challenges, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, behaviour difficulties, and past disengagement from mainstream education. This is a role for a resilient, patient, and committed Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real impact.

Teaching Assistant - The Role

Full-time Teaching Assistant position, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am to 3:45pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Working with pupils aged 11-16 in small group and 1:1 settings
Providing classroom support, de-escalation, and pastoral care
Supporting students with SEMH needs and behaviour regulation

Experience supporting students with SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings desirable
Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience
Calm, consistent, and reliable presence in a classroom
Passionate about helping vulnerable learners succeed
