Our client, a prominent company within the Defence & Security sector, is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Barrow. The position comes with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site presence with remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading planning, monitoring, and control activities within the project environment
Lead for cost control across the AVC project. Ensuring abiding by the budget on a day to day basis. Ensuring in line with the forecast. Updating the spend forecast and being able to articulate any cost variances. Developing the estimate of complection (EAC).

Able to undertake advanced problem solving typically based on previous experience.
Have a comprehensive knowledge of Business process and procedures.
Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages.
Attend on the job training as appropriate.
Able to lead the PM&C processes on a small project or a work package of a larger project

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in project control within the Defence & Security sector
Experience as a Cost Lead Expert
Exceptional leadership and team collaboration skills
Proficient in using project management tools and methodologies
Fluent in Excel - SAP would be desirable. Faimilarity with planning tools such as P6 would be advantagoues but not essential.
