Job Title: Category Manager
Permanent Part Time position - 27 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 per annum (pro-rata salary for 27 hours per week)

Location: Glastonbury area

About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Category Manager to oversee multiple product ranges. This is a hands-on role combining strategy, supplier relationships, and creativity, helping deliver product ranges that customers love while reflecting ethical and sustainable values.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage product ranges from sourcing to launch, ensuring they meet customer needs and business goals
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and promotions
Set and review pricing and margins to balance competitiveness, profitability, and brand values
Monitor sales, stock, and performance data to make informed decisions on product selection, promotions, and range adjustments
Develop seasonal layouts, promotional displays, and in-store presentation to enhance the customer experience
Collaborate across teams to deliver smooth execution and consistent standards
Stay informed on industry trends, customer preferences, and sustainability practices to guide category decisions
Champion ethical, sustainable, and responsible sourcing throughout all decisions

Who You Are

Experience in a Category Manager, Buyer, or similar role within, food retail, consumer goods or grocery.
Strong commercial skills, confident in pricing, margins, and supplier negotiations
Data-driven and able to make independent decisions
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Passion for food, sustainability, and ethical retail is highly desirable
