The individual in this role will support the Production Manager in the delivery of programmes and be expected to lead multi-function production teams, including Team Leaders, deliver business milestones, ensuring, quality, cost and schedule are achieved, develop staff in support of a sustainable business and to develop and demonstrate measurable continuous improvement
Shift Work Required.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for:
Deputise for Production Manager as appropriate.
Lead a shift production team of up to 6-8 Team Leaders and develop the team to enhance skillset and teams ability to deliver efficiently, effectively and safely.
Setting up the shift, handovers, workload allocation, manage labour.
Monitor and adhere to schedules to ensure teams adequately resourced.
Delivering and monitoring all KPi's, production output management against plans.
Drive and demonstrate continuous improvement, actively champion change and drive implementation of improvements to introduce an improving business that has its people, processes and tools at the core.
Manage utilisation and efficiency.
Develop and demonstrate high levels of SHE behaviours to teams through strategic SHE improvements/setting and positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management/compliance.
Use technical expertise and problem solving skills to guide teams to establish solutions to delivery challenges to ensure schedule compliance.
Drive and encourage good behaviours that enable high standards of delivery.
Manage the teams using firm, fair and consistent values ensuring positive interventions and management actions when necessary.
Support planning and organisation of production schedules
Support preparation of project / work stream resourcing requirements
Support the definition and attainment of product / process quality control standards
Support MRP, including authorising expenditure (IAW DOA) as appropriate
Overseeing production processes within area of responsibility
Support organisation and management of routine, preventative and reactionary plant and equipment maintenance and repairs
Support identification of training needs to ensure continued competence of production areaWHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Appreciation of manufacturing MRP systems
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous improvement principles.
Have experience of people and performance management.
A proven history of delivering projects to defined Quality, Cost and Schedule parameters.
HNC/HND qualified or equivalent significant experience.
Manage production issues, demonstrating logical and structured decision making based on facts, financial awareness and Earned Value management.
Hold high levels of SHE knowledge/experience, is NEBOSH trained or significant experience.
Have frontline Management skills, demonstrating communication, listening and processes skills.
Proven experience of leadership and staff motivation.
Technical abilities and problem solving skills
Security cleared or the ability to attain and maintain a UK security clearance up to SC level - MandatoryWHAT WE OFFER YOU
