Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Location: UK-wide / Site-based (project dependent)

Role Overview:

Critical Business Solutions are experiencing continued growth and are looking to engage experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support the commissioning of critical electrical systems across a range of projects.

This role will suit engineers with a strong background in electrical commissioning, testing and handover within environments such as data centres, critical infrastructure, commercial or industrial projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients and other disciplines to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out commissioning of electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators and associated infrastructure.

Execute commissioning plans, test procedures and method statements.

Perform functional testing, fault finding and validation of electrical installations.

Liaise with project managers, contractors and client representatives during commissioning phases.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety regulations and project requirements.

Produce accurate commissioning documentation, test results and handover reports.

Support witnessing, snagging and final handover activities as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer or similar role.

Strong understanding of electrical systems within critical or complex environments.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.

Experience with testing, commissioning procedures and structured documentation.

Excellent communication skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach.

Willingness to work on site and travel as projects require.

Desirable:

Experience within data centres, critical power or mission-critical environments.

Relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).

HV/LV Authorised Person experience.

Familiarity with integrated systems testing (IST).
