Special Needs Teaching / Learning Support Assistant - Mainstream Primary School
Location: Clacton On Sea
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full Time

Are you a passionate, empathetic, and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary school setting?

We are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (SEN TA / LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school from September 2025. This is a full-time role, working closely with a Class Teacher and SENDCo to support pupils who require personalised learning and emotional support.

About the Role:

Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small group interventions.
Adapting learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Promoting inclusion and supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils with additional needs.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Contributing to EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) reviews and documentation.Experience of Supporting One or More of the Following Needs Would Be Beneficial:

ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder
ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
SEMH - Social, Emotional and Mental Health
MLD - Moderate Learning Difficulties
SLD - Severe Learning Difficulties
SpLD - Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia)
PDA - Pathological Demand Avoidance
PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
VI - Visual Impairment
HI - Hearing Impairment
GDD - Global Developmental Delay
ODD - Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Tourette Syndrome
Down Syndrome
SLCN - Speech, Language and Communication NeedsThe Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school, nursery, or care environment.
Be patient, nurturing, and able to adapt to individual learning needs.
Understand the importance of inclusive and child-centred education.
Be proactive and confident working independently and as part of a team.
Hold a relevant qualification or have equivalent experience (desirable but not essential).What We Offer:
