Main duties
To encourage and support the sustainable, profitable, growth of the Business:
Provide pre and post-sales customer technical support; qualify customer requirements, identify technical solutions, provide quotations and proposals, follow up post-delivery with key customers and key projects; direct to our customer or via our global network of agents.
Support and carry out customer visits and support Trade shows around the world.
Work with the R&D team to create customer technical solutions and identify new products based on customer and market inputs.
Support "complex" enquiry / project work, while supporting business-as-usual enquiries wherever needed.
Provide business, market and competitive intelligence inputs to the management and development teams, by further enhancing commercial understanding of market factors in order to identify new business opportunities. Support the Promotion of new products and capabilities through Flann's website, datasheets, catalogue and press releases;
Support the marketing function with the creation and dissemination of case studies, data sheets, catalogues, and application notes. Support marketing events where appropriate.
Support the database maintenance of key customers and key projects.
Write and submit technical bid proposals (of increasing complexity over time).
Work as a member of the sales team to enable Flann to successfully understand the customer requirement, quote and secure business;
Provide support to the sales team to ensure most suitable products and/or services are being offered, depending on the application;
Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat, tidy and professional;
Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability as required by the company.Person Specification
Previous experience in a related role or industry would be an advantage (but isn't necessary);
Ability to understand the technical nature of our products and offerings; having "a degree standard intellect". The following would be an advantage:
Formally trained in relevant technical discipline (Microwave Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Communications etc);
An appreciation of microwave theory & techniques;
Awareness of EM simulation and modelling tools;
An appreciation of antenna theory and design;
An appreciation of machining and mechanical assembly techniques;
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and a willingness to develop and learn new skills;
Good IT and communication skills;
Ability to use initiative, be proactive and work efficiently as part of a team;
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines;
Able to be flexible, courteous, friendly and maintain a positive approach at all times;
Show discretion and professionalism at all times;
