Manpower Recruitment have teamed up with an established Restaurant in the heart of Oxford City Centre and are looking to recruit for a Full Time Sushi Chef.
The role is based on Full Time basis (up to 6 days per week) working hours between 12pm-10pm, with a two-hour break throughout shift.
The ideal candidate needs flexibility with days and happy to work weekends, as busier times.
**Please note you would need to live in Oxford City area due to no car parking and limited access to city centre with congestion charges etc.
** The Restaurant re opens in January and interviews will be taking place from Monday 12th January.
The role is paying £30000pa
Sushi Chef duties and responsibilities
The main job of a Sushi Chef is to develop and prepare dishes that are visually appealing and pleasing to the palate to delight customers at restaurants and other venues. To achieve this, they may complete the following duties:
Putting together a sushi menu that incorporates a variety of dishes from Japanese cuisine
Giving ideas and influence on daily/weekly specials.
Researching competitors to determine pricing and stay abreast of the latest culinary trends
Ordering ingredients and managing inventory
Preparing whole fish into filets and smaller pieces for use in dishes
Assembling and plating sushi, sashimi, maki rolls and other fare
Supervising the activities of apprentices and kitchen helpers
Adhering to health and safety codes and regulations
Cleaning kitchen tools and workstations to maintain a hygienic environment
Happy to help support a tidy kitchen at the end of each shift, including washing up equipment etc.
Sushi Chef experience requirements
To work as the main Sushi Chef for a restaurant or other venue, a candidate will typically need at least two years of experience and have appropriate certification in Food handling and Hygiene (Level 2 or above)
