Are you an experienced and passionate SEN teacher ready to make a lasting impact on pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? A nurturing and well-resourced Primary SEN School in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teacher to join their team this September - with the option to start earlier.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a school that provides an inclusive, child-centred learning environment for pupils with complex needs including PMLD, sensory impairments, and significant medical or physical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess highly personalised learning experiences for pupils with PMLD
Use a multisensory and therapeutic approach to support communication, cognition, and engagement
Collaborate closely with a team of TAs, therapists, and medical professionals
Implement and adapt individual education plans (IEPs) in line with EHCPs
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
Support pupils with personal care needs where required
Engage with families and external agencies to ensure holistic support
Track and report on progress using appropriate SEN assessment frameworks
Requirements:
QTS is preferred; other relevant teaching qualifications will be considered
Experience working with children with PMLD or complex SEN is essential
A creative, flexible, and compassionate teaching style
Ability to lead and inspire a team of support staff in a specialist setting
Knowledge of AAC, sensory integration, and alternative communication methods is desirable
Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion principles
