Assistant Estimator

Location: Bilston
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £25,000- £30,000

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator / Apprentice Estimator to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within the highways infrastructure sector. This role offers the chance to develop your estimating career within a supportive and experienced team, working on a range of infrastructure and safety-critical projects.

This position would suit someone with some estimating experience or a strong interest in developing a career within civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure estimating.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing tender documentation, drawings, and technical specifications
     Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor costs
     Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
     Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders
     Assist with pricing breakdowns and bid submission documentation
     Support the handover of successful bids to delivery teams
About You

Some experience in estimating or a strong interest in developing within this area
     Background in civil engineering, highways, construction, or similar sector advantageous
     Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
     Strong numerical and analytical skills
     Good communication skills and attention to detail
     Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
     Familiarity with ERP systems would be beneficial
