Purpose of Post:

As a visiting lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching relevant subjects (as per course requirements) during term time. Prior to the term start, you will be engaged in the development of learning materials and other such duties as briefed by your Assistant Academic Manager/Course Leader, e.g. formulating assessment briefs, fulfilling teaching requirements at Levels 4, 5 and 6, whilst contributing to the general operation of the College as a member of its Academic Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching;

To develop and deliver undergraduate and foundation courses so that:

Students are challenged but also tutored and supported with individual care
Teaching and learning techniques are innovative and inspiring
Students are supervised appropriately
Assessment criteria are appropriate and fairly applied, with results fed back to students appropriately
Module content is continuously reviewed to identify areas for improvement.
Teaching: will involve:
Writing lecture materials and handouts, and presenting information in lectures
Delivering seminars, workshops, and tutorials
Marking student papers
Contributing to the departmental planning team to determine the teaching programme for the academic year
Take feedback from students to improve teaching methodologies and content within the department
Providing guidance and advice to students, e.g. career advice and/or pastoral careTeaching Delivery;

To contribute to the overall general and academic management in the College by undertaking activities that may be required such as:

Developing overall academic content and structure of modules with colleagues
Supporting assessment processes and procedures
Contributing to the work of college committees
Contributing to accreditation and quality control processesPerson Specification:

The lecturer will be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics;

PHD or a Master`s Degree in an appropriate academic field/experience in the subject, or a closely related field
Experience in delivering teaching online and/or blended learning
Teamwork skills to work in collaboration with existing group members
The attitude and ability to engage in continuous professional development, i.e. FHEA
The aptitude to develop familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning
Enthusiasm for delivering undergraduate programmes
Proven academic leadership skills
Fully computer-literate and able to operate at least at an intermediate level with Word, Access, and PowerPointHow to Apply:
