Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer (Nights) to support highway upgrade and cycleway improvement works in Cambridge. This role requires someone capable of both technical delivery and supervisory support, with proven experience in managing subcontractors, driving programme, and delivering to high quality standards on infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide engineering and technical support on site, with minimal supervision.

Supervise works and support the site foreman and wider site teams.

Drive programme delivery and ensure milestones are met.

Carry out quality control, ideally using Procure or similar QA platforms.

Review drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Raise and manage technical queries (TQs) with the design team and client.

Maintain daily site records and documentation to a high standard.

Use AutoCAD proficiently for setting out and checking work.

Requirements

Proven experience on highway upgrades / cycleway schemes.

Strong team supervisory experience - leading or supporting site teams.

Competent in using AutoCAD with minimal support required.

Strong knowledge of quality control processes.

Excellent design review and TQ-raising skills.

Comfortable working night shifts and ensuring safe, efficient site operation.

Certifications (Required / Preferred):

SSSTS or SMSTS - Required

Gold CSCS Card - Required

NRSWA Supervisor - Preferred
