ABC Teachers is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Secondary Teacher to join our specialist school in Kidderminster, which supports children and young people with a wide range of complex learning needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and speech and language communication challenges.

This role is ideal for a passionate educator who understands the importance of individualised learning, emotional support, and a trauma-informed approach. You’ll work with small groups of students to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in a way that supports both academic progress and personal growth.

About the role 

Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects (or subject specialism) for KS3–KS4 students with EHCPs.
Create a calm, safe, and structured learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and heard
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the social, emotional, communication, and sensory needs of students.
Work collaboratively with LSAs, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning goals.
Support students in regulating their emotions, building resilience, and developing positive relationships.
Integrate outdoor learning and practical activities where appropriate to enhance engagement and wellbeing.
Use trauma-informed and restorative behaviour support strategies to maintain a positive classroom culture

About you: 

To be considered for the SEN Secondary Teacher position, you will: 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEND, particularly autism and SEMH.
Ability to differentiate effectively for a wide range of academic levels and learning profiles.

Empathetic, reflective, and committed to inclusive education
Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
Willingness to contribute to the school’s nurturing, home-like ethos
