Job Title: Freelance Section Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Contract: 12-month freelance contract, inside IR35
Daily Rate: £460-£480 per day
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role:
We are looking for a freelance Section Engineer to join a large-scale construction project in Gloucester, currently in full construction stage. This is a hands-on, site-based role with lots of walking, so we need someone enthusiastic, energetic, and ready to hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise a section of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Oversee highways, earthworks, and drainage operations.

Coordinate with subcontractors, operatives, and other site stakeholders.

Ensure strict compliance with health and safety policies.

Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and technical documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational challenges.
Requirements:

Proven experience in highways, earthworks, and drainage.

SMSTS certification required.

Valid CSCS card.

Cat & Genny experience is desirable.

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

Comfortable with extensive walking across a large site.

Freelance 12-month contract, inside IR35

Competitive daily rate: £460-£480 per day
