Tripod Partners are looking for a qualified Lawyer to join a busy Legal Services team, supporting a variety of council-related matters with a focus on non-complex legal casework and public sector governance.

This role is ideal for someone confident working independently across a broad legal caseload, with excellent drafting, advisory, and organisational skills.

Key Details:

Rate: £49 per hour

Location: London (Tower Hamlets area) — hybrid working supported

*

Duration: Ongoing

*

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

*

Manage a varied caseload of non-complex legal matters within local government law

*

Provide legal advice, drafting, and procedural guidance in line with Council Constitution and legislation

*

Contribute to report preparation and offer legal input on council committee matters

*

Support legal proceedings, tribunal preparation, and drafting of formal submissions

*

Maintain accurate records in compliance with Lexcel and internal protocols

*

Contribute to risk management, service development, and legal team operations

Requirements:

*

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX (or significant equivalent experience)

*

Demonstrable experience working on public sector or local authority legal matters

*

Strong knowledge of public law, client care principles, and risk management

*

Skilled in prioritising high-volume caseloads and producing clear legal advice

*

Comfortable with digital legal systems and case management tools

Desirable:

*

Experience attending and advising statutory boards, tribunals, or legal panels

*

Familiarity with Local Government legal frameworks and procedures
