Location: Barnoldswick / Colne (Lancashire)

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (Full-Time)

Contract: Direct Contract with the School

Are you ready to be the operational heart of a high-impact school?

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized School Business Manager to join our Alternative Provision team serving the Barnoldswick and Colne area. This is a vital role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where your financial and operational expertise directly supports the success of our students.

As a School Business Manager, you won't just be sitting behind a desk; you will be the engine room of our school, ensuring that our resources, site, and finances are optimized to provide the best possible "second chance" for young people with SEN and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management: Manage the school budget (up to £32k role focus), overseeing procurement, payroll, and financial reporting.

Operations & Facilities: Lead on site management, health and safety, and contractor relations to ensure a safe, high-quality learning environment.

Human Resources: Manage staff contracts, recruitment administration, and the Single Central Record (SCR).

Strategic Growth: Work closely with the Headteacher to identify funding opportunities, grants, and income generation.

Safeguarding: Ensure all business operations comply with the highest safeguarding standards, including an enhanced DBS check upon appointment.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience: Proven experience in business management, finance, or HR (ideally within an education or SEN/AP setting).

Skills: Strong proficiency in financial software and a sharp eye for detail.

Mindset: You are a problem-solver who remains calm under pressure and understands the unique challenges of an Alternative Provision.

Location: Ideally based in or near Barnoldswick, Colne, Nelson, or Burnley.

Why Join Our Alternative Provision?

Direct Employment: A stable, direct school contract (not an agency role).

Career Impact: The chance to move beyond "standard" school management into a role where your efficiency changes lives.

Professional Support: Join a tight-knit, supportive leadership team in a beautiful East Lancashire setting.

How to Apply

If you are a motivated business professional ready to make a difference in Barnoldswick and Colne, we want to hear from you.
