Tara Professional Recruitment is proud to be supporting a highly specialist SEN residential school in their search for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

About the School:

* A small, nurturing residential SEN setting with just 12 students on roll

* Students have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) – many are non-verbal and rely on Makaton and visual aids for communication

* A calm, structured environment with small class sizes to allow for personalised support

* A focus on empathy, emotional support, and helping each child thrive in both educational and residential aspects of their day

Your Role Will Involve:

* Working closely with children who require high levels of empathy, patience, and emotional support

* Using Makaton and visual tools to aid communication and understanding

* Working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience supporting children or young adults with SLD, ASD, or complex needs

* Confident using Makaton and visual communication tools

* Calm, nurturing, and emotionally resilient

* Team player who thrives in a small, supportive environment
