Job Title: KS3 SEN Teacher
Salary: £27,456 - £43,014 per annum
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Contract: Full time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Purpose of the Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Part of the Education Group, this School is a welcoming and nurturing provision. A co-educational independent special school that provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 7-16. The school caters for pupils with complex social emotional and mental health needs.
The majority of our pupils are Children Looked After, living in Education Group residential homes in the local area. This School provides a therapeutic informed approach and specialist support in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
* Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
* Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support
Requirements
* Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
* Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings.
* QTS/QTLS qualification
* Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
* Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
* Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
