RE Teacher – Outstanding School – Surrey

An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Surrey seeks a dedicated and insightful RE Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5). The school values RE as a crucial subject for developing well-rounded and thoughtful individuals.

Responsibilities:

The successful RE Teacher will plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons exploring a wide range of world religions, belief systems, philosophy, and ethics. You will foster critical thinking, open-mindedness, and respectful dialogue among students from diverse backgrounds. Developing students' ability to analyse complex ideas and articulate their own perspectives is a key element of this RE Teacher role. An excellent RE Teacher is required for this post.

Requirements:

Applicants must be a qualified RE Teacher (QTS) with a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field. Proven experience teaching RE at the secondary level is essential. A strong understanding of different belief systems and ethical frameworks, alongside excellent communication and classroom management skills, is required.
