Senior Buyer | Civil Engineering & Utilities | Maidstone HQ

A long-established, family-run utilities and reinstatement business with over 25 years’ experience is looking for a skilled Senior Buyer to lead and optimise their procurement operations.

The Role:
You’ll head up procurement across materials, subcontractors, and services, keeping projects moving and suppliers accountable. With a focus on efficiency, supplier relations, and system integration, this is a pivotal role supporting growth across our civils and reinstatement projects.

You’ll need:
✔ Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer in construction, civil engineering or utilities
✔ Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of procurement best practices
✔ Hands-on experience with Sicon, Sage or similar systems
✔ Leadership capability – with a collaborative approach
✔ CIPS qualification (or working towards it) a plus

You’ll be responsible for:
• Leading and developing a high-performing procurement team
• Improving digital procurement systems and reducing inefficiencies
• Managing supplier contracts, cost control, and delivery timelines
• Partnering with Finance, IT, and Project teams for joined-up success

Based in Maidstone, covering South East projects
