School Caretaker Wanted - Join a Supportive and Welcoming Team!

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a reliable, hardworking School Caretaker to support a specialist education setting in Greater Manchester. This is a vital role within the school community, helping ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for staff, pupils and visitors.

The Role

As the school's Caretaker, you will play a key part in the daily running of the site. Your responsibilities will include:

Opening and securing the school building each day.

Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks.

Conducting regular checks on safety equipment, alarms and building condition.

Managing cleaning standards and supporting site cleanliness when required.

Overseeing contractors and monitoring work carried out on-site.

Ensuring outdoor areas are tidy, safe and well maintained.

Responding to maintenance issues promptly and professionally.

Who We're Looking For

You should be someone who is:

Practical, resourceful and confident with general maintenance tasks.

Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

Friendly and approachable, with a positive attitude.

Committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming school environment.

Experienced in a caretaking, maintenance or facilities role (desirable but not essential).

Aware of health & safety practices and safeguarding responsibilities.

Hours & Requirements

Full-time, school-based role with occasional flexibility needed. 7:30-5:00

Enhanced DBS required (Tradewind can help with this if needed).

Start date: As soon as possible.
