We’re looking for a Packaging Technologist to join an innovative team in Peterborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in packaging development to play a key role in the end-to-end execution of NPD (New Product Development) projects - from initial brief through to successful delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work on medium- to high-complexity NPD projects, collaborating closely with Packaging Coordinators, Product Managers, suppliers, and the wider NPD team. Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the gatekeeper for Packaging NPD, ensuring all packaging activities are tracked and delivered on time and in full (OTIF)

*

Developing accurate and fit-for-purpose packaging component specifications, cutter guides, and manufacturing sheets.

*

Attending key NPD meetings and proactively identifying packaging risks or opportunities.

*

Managing artwork approvals and component colour matches.

*

Leading material and decoration testing plans, interpreting results, and proposing solutions.

*

Ensuring cost, quality, and sustainability targets are considered in all packaging solutions.

About you:

A solid background in packaging development or packaging technology, ideally within FMCG, cosmetics, or a similar product environment.

*

Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and juggle multiple priorities.

*

A detail-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

*

An understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing protocols.
