A fantastic opportunity has become available for a dedicated Food Technology ECT to join a forward-thinking and student-focused school in Taunton. Your role as a Food Technology ECT will involve:

Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, including preparing students for GCSE assessment
*
Planning practical, safe, and engaging cooking lessons
*
Supporting students in developing life skills, nutritional awareness, and food hygiene
*
Creating a safe and well-managed food preparation environment
*
Engaging in CPD sessions and personalised professional development
*
Working alongside experienced colleagues to plan and adapt schemes of work
*
Contributing to enrichment activities such as healthy eating campaigns or cooking clubs
*
Being part of a supportive, progressive DT department with strong links to PSHE and science
What we’re looking for in a Food Technology ECT:

A degree in Food, Nutrition, Hospitality or related subject and QTS pending for summer 2025
*
Strong practical cooking and organisational skills
*
An understanding of how to make food education inclusive and meaningful
*
A creative and confident teaching style, ready to adapt and grow
