Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist – Construction & Infrastructure
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £53,000 + Excellent Benefits
Working week: 40 hours, Monday–Friday

Are you an experienced Buyer looking to make a real impact on major construction and civil engineering projects?

We’re seeking a Senior Buyer to lead supplier engagement, subcontract management, and materials procurement for high-profile infrastructure programmes across the Midlands.

This role offers the chance to work at the heart of large, complex projects — where your decisions will shape delivery, drive value, and strengthen key supplier relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing
Managing end-to-end buying/procurement activities, from subcontractor selection through to order placement and performance management.
Preparing tender enquiries, evaluating suppliers, and drafting robust contract documentation.
Leading supply chain engagement and ensuring project requirements are clearly communicated and met.
Driving efficiencies by implementing procurement strategies that deliver value, quality, and on-time delivery.
Collaborating with project teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of materials, plant, and services.
Identifying risks, opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
Providing regular data and performance reports to senior management. What We’re Looking For
Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience within the construction or civil engineering sector.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to monitor budgets and ensure contractual compliance.
Skilled in supplier relationship management and experienced in delivering best practice procurement.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
IT literate, with strong Microsoft Office and procurement software knowledge.
MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable, as are industry-related qualifications.
A proactive, detail-focused, and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
