We are working with a local SEN school looking to recruit a Learning Mentor so support a class of 10 students on a long-term basis,with the views to lead to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

This position will commence immediately, or from September 2024.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

· Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

· Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

· Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN.

Requirements:

· While prior experience in a similar role is preferred, we also welcome applications from individuals new to this sector that have transferable skills from roles such as Youth Work, Family Support Worker and Children’s Residential Support Worker.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of all ages.

· Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and learning needs.

· A DBS on the update service (or willing to get one)
