A forward-thinking and supportive school in Swindon is looking for a motivated Design and Technology ECT to join their vibrant department from September 2025. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to gain excellent experience while supported by a team of specialist DT teachers and technicians.

Key responsibilities for this Design and Technology ECT position include:

Teaching across the Design and Technology curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4

*

Planning practical and theoretical lessons that promote creativity and design thinking

*

Helping students understand safe and efficient use of tools and materials

*

Supporting students to develop project-based portfolios and coursework

*

Engaging in cross-curricular links with Art, Computing, and Science

*

Collaborating with an experienced team to share ideas and improve resources

*

Attending CPD sessions and structured ECT development meetings

*

Supporting technology clubs and design competitions where possible

You’ll be an ideal Design and Technology ECT if you:

Are completing your teacher training in summer 2025 and have a DT, Product Design or Engineering degree

*

Have strong practical knowledge and good classroom presence

*

Are creative, adaptable, and ready to grow with mentoring and feedback

*

Are excited to inspire students with real-world applications of design
