About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, working closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Full end-to-end project management of solar PV and BESS works

Planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities on site

Managing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers

Programme management, including schedules, milestones, and critical path

Budget control, cost tracking, and change management

Ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements and industry standards

Liaising with grid operators, landowners, engineers, and local stakeholders

Risk management and issue resolution throughout the project

Reporting progress to clients and senior stakeholders

Supporting commissioning, testing, and final handover

Required Experience & Skills

Proven experience managing utility-scale solar and/or battery storage (BESS) projects

Strong background in renewable energy, power, or large infrastructure projects

Solid understanding of construction, electrical works, and grid connections

Excellent contractor and stakeholder management skills

Strong commercial and programme management capability

Comfortable working independently in a freelance/contract role

Relevant qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction (desirable)
