Job Title: Experienced Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Full Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Woking Area
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within mainstream school settings across the Woking area. There will be full-time opportunities, working five days per week, offering a rewarding chance to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ educational journeys.
About the Role:
You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential in a mainstream environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
Support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social development
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback where required
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN pupils
Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
