Cleaning Operative - White Goods Recycling Sector

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our team in the Recycling Sector.

Location : Normanton, WF6

Hours of work : Monday to Friday, 07.00am-16.00pm

Rate of Pay : £12.50 per hour

Temp to Perm after 8 weeks.

Role :

To clean, sanitise, and prepare white goods to a high standard for resale, rental, repair, recycling, or customer return, ensuring hygiene, safety, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities :

* Deep clean internal and external surfaces of appliances

* Remove grease, limescale, mould, food residue, and stains

* Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and tools safely

* Dismantle removable parts (shelves, drawers, filters) for thorough cleaning

* Inspect appliances for visible damage or faults

* Report defects to supervisors or technicians

* Clean and finish appliances to a presentable standard

* Ensure appliances are dry and ready for storage or delivery

* Follow health & safety procedures at all times

* Dispose of waste materials responsibly

Typical White Goods Cleaned :

* Refrigerators & Freezers

* Washing Machines

* Tumble Dryers

* Dishwashers

* Electric Cookers & Ovens

Skills & Requirements :

* Good attention to detail

* Ability to follow cleaning procedures

* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and COSHH regulations

* Physical stamina (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team

* Basic understanding of electrical safety

Health & Safety :

* Wear PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing)

* Ensure appliances are disconnected from power before cleaning

* Handle chemicals safely

* Follow manual handling procedures
