Freelance Site Manager – New Build Housing – Chesterfield

We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established regional housebuilder who are looking for a Freelance Site Manager to take the lead on a new housing development in Chesterfield.

The site is in the early stages, and they need a strong, hands-on manager to drive the build forward, manage trades, and ensure quality standards are upheld from groundworks through to completion.

? The Role

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors, ensuring health & safety compliance, and hitting programme targets. This is a live site with an active build programme — the right candidate will be confident running the job independently and reporting into a visiting Contracts Manager.

? Key Requirements

* Proven experience managing residential new build sites

* SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS (essential)

* Strong understanding of NHBC standards and H&S compliance

* Able to manage trades and subcontractors effectively

* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to keep a site running smoothly
