About the role

As a Senior Rehousing Officer working in a busy front line homelessness service, you will play a critical role in helping families in temporary accommodation secure moves into settled homes. You will provide supervision and guidance to a team of officers, supporting them to overcome barriers and identify solutions that will enable families to secure the best possible outcomes. You will also support the Rehousing Team Manager organise the team and plan for success.

You will be joining a team committed to making a positive difference to people’s lives at the start of an exciting change in approach to supporting households in temporary accommodation. Whilst working in the team will be challenging and fast paced, you’ll be supported to achieve success, developing new skills and experience along the way.

About you

You will be passionate about helping people and a champion of delivering people centred services but able to maintain a clear focus on achieving outcomes. You will have the ability to coach and motivate staff in a challenging setting and build effective relationships with partner services and organisations, you will be confident using and manipulating data to plan work and report on outcomes. You will have experience of assessing housing need in a Local Authority context and/ or supporting households to move out of temporary accommodation. Your detailed understanding of housing and homelessness law and practice will enable you to provide casework advice to officers
